Teen Thunder Division

Passenger cars only. No convertibles, vans, or trucks.

Four cylinder only. No turbos. No superchargers. Cars maybe front or rear wheel drive.

No All Wheel Drive cars allowed.

Ride height will be no lower than 6” to the lowest point of the frame. NO RACING SPRINGS. With car on jack, the spring is not allowed to move in the pocket. Two spring rubbers or bump rubbers allowed per wheel.

Tires and Wheels:

Any 60 series radial with minimum DOT 300 Treadwear rating only.

Treadwear must be stamped on casing. NO EXCEPTIONS

1” Tire tip on left front and 2” tire tip on right front allowed.

Wheel size must be stock for vehicle. Steel or aluminum wheels only. No after market wheels allowed. Maximum tread width of seven inches allowed on tires. One tire size different from side to side(Ex: 195 inside and 205 on outside). No recaps. No liquid filled. Air filled only. No Goodyear Eagles allowed. All hubcaps must be removed. 104” or less wheelbase will be allowed.

Body:

4-point cage. Hoops in front and rear allowed with down pipes only.

A plate of 16 gauge steel approximate size 40” x 20” mounted on driver’s side between door skin and roll cage.

Steel plate is required on outside of roll cage on drivers door.

Bumpers must remain stock height for make and model of car. Bumper covers mandatory at all times.

Rub rails allowed. Rub rails must be flat against car.

FRONT AND REAR TOW HOOKS MANDATORY.

All doors must be welded shut.

Back of rear seat MUST be replaced with sheet metal.

Passenger seat and rear seat must be removed.

No body alterations allowed.

Dashboards may be removed.

Collapsible steering columns allowed.

All window glass(except for windshield), headlights, and marker lights must be removed from car before it will be allowed to compete.

Glass windshields are allowed or replaced with Lexan.

Aluminum racing seats are MANDATORY.

Battery must be removed from engine compartment and installed in driver compartment. Battery must be securely mounted in a battery box.

All floor carpets and bottom of rear seats must be removed.

All cars must have four wheel brakes in proper working order

Fuel cells must be securely mounted in center of trunk. NO OFFSET.  Two stock and two extra straps required on fuel tanks left in stock location.

All running gear must remain completely stock for year and make of car. No Limited Slip Differentials. No locked rear ends allowed.

No Anti-freeze allowed. KEEP COOL or water only. Cars must have an overflow jug in working order.

All lug nuts and studs must be on car at all times. 1” recommended.

All vehicles found out of stock will be disqualified.

ALL CARS MUST REMAIN STOCK.

Safety:

All drivers must wear a DOT approved helmet.

Racing harnesses must have a date of manufacture not more than four (4)years old mandatory unless approved by Safety Team.

Fireproof racing suits required.

Neck collar MANDATORY.

All cars must have an operative 3# fire extinguisher with gauge mounted in a metal bracket within reach of the driver. Gauge must read full. No plastic fuel filters – metal only.

Window nets required (ribbon or mesh). No string nets allowed. Nets must be clip only. No cotter pin or bolts in net rod.

REAR WINDOW BRAKE LIGHT REQUIRED

All TEEN DRIVER ELIGIBILITY is up to the discretion and approval of the race director and track management. Ages 11 to 17 years(must show proof of age and have a 2011 signed minor release on file before being allowed to race).

Teen drivers must have practiced at Unity Raceway prior to competing in racing competition. DO NOT SHOW UP ON RACE DAY AND EXPECT TO RACE IF THIS HAS NOT BEEN DONE.

Teen cars are for Teen drivers ONLY, no other class or driver.

TEEN THUNDER must register for class prior to racing for the entire 2011 season.
