Monsta-Mini's Division
BODIES: The Monsta Mini Division will be
made up of any production model car. Stock roof of production car
mandatory. Panels maybe made of 22 gauge steel. After market bumpers
allowed. Fiberglass hood allowed. Inner
fenders in front of struts may be removed.
Ground effects are mandatory.
Ground effects can be made of aluminum.
5” X 60” rear deck spoiler
mandatory. The spoiler may not exceed the width of the rear of
the car. Any body not matching engine and chassis must be approved
by tech before racing. Rub rails allowed. Rub rails must be flat
against body. Cars should
remain stock appearing.
FRAME: Front firewall must
be stock. All holes to engine compartment must be covered with sheet
metal. Firewall must be steel. Rear firewall must cover the
entire area so that the trunk area is completely separated from the
driver’s compartment. The rear firewall must be steel. No aluminum.
Full stock floorboards are mandatory.
All floorboards must remain
visible. No tinning in of interior. Racing seat
MANDATORY. A full roll cage is required, with a minimum of three (3)
horizontal bars in the driver’s door and two (2) on the passenger
side. A plate of 16 gauge steel approximate size 40” x 20” mounted
on driver’s side between door skin and roll cage is MANDATORY. No
butt welded joints. A vertical vent window bar is recommended. All
roll bars within range of the driver must be padded. All cars must
start the race meet with hood and fenders. Minimum height of
any part of the body or frame is 4" from the ground at the lowest
point with driver in the car. Ground effects will be no lower then
3” from the ground at the lowest point with driver in the car. TOW
HOOKS FRONT AND REAR ARE REQUIRED
WEIGHT: Minimum weight including driver is 2,200 lbs. Any
added weight must be bolted to the frame rails with a minimum of
(2) 3/8 in. bolts, and must
be painted white. Maximum left side weight 54% (54/46). Any
cars with a square tube front frame forward of the strut towers or
behind rear axle center line add 50 lbs per each end. WEIGHT WILL BE ADDED OR SUBTRACTED IN FAIRNESS OF COMPETITION.
TRACK WIDTH:
62”. 50 lb penalty for
every inch over 62”. 64” maximum track width.
NO MORE. Any exception must be tech approved.
WHEELS: Any steel wheels must be maximum 7” width to
maintain 62” tread width.
TIRES:
Unity approved Hoosier 790 23/7/13, 23/7/14, and 24/7/14 track tires
for 2011 race season. One new tire per week. No tire softener
allowed. If caught with/using tire softener driver will lose all
accumulated points to date and tires. Once Tires leave the track
ABSOLUTELY NO RETURNS
ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS: In-line or horizontally opposed
four cylinder engines stock for make and model of car only .030
overbore allowed. KeithBlack™ cast piston allowed, flat tops only.
No rotary (Wankel™) engines. 2.4 Liter max.
Heads must remain stock. No alterations allowed. Compression
ratio 12 to 1. Measured
at the valve.
Cam
not over .450 max lift measured at the valve. Aftermarket cam gears
and under drive pulleys allowed.
4412 Carburetor allowed or stock fuel
injection. 350 carburetor also allowed. Stock throttle body for non
carb. cars. Fuel pump must remain stock and unaltered. An oil
pressure switch is required for electric fuel pump units. NO
TURBOCHARGERS.
Performance Air Filter allowed.
All cars must be equipped with a starter and be
self- starting.
IGNITION: Must
remain stock for make and model year.
EXHAUST: Exhaust pipe may exit behind door.
Headers allowed. Racing
mufflers mandatory.
FUEL CELL: A fuel cell is mandatory. All
fuel cells must be mounted in the trunk area, covered, enclosed in a
.22 gauge canister. Maximum capacity 15 gals. A check valve must be
installed in the vent line. Fuel Cell minimum ride height 8” from
ground. Access door to fuel cell mandatory.
TRANSMISSION/REAR END: All running gear
components, clutch, transmission, rear end, transaxle, etc. must
remain stock and unaltered for make and model year. Ok to weld the
rears but no aftermarket posi-track or Detroit™ type locking units.
No cambered rear ends.
FLYWHEEL:
Must weight 13lbs or more. Stock Steel Only.
NO EXCEPTIONS.
CHASSIS & SUSPENSION:
No All Wheel Drive cars allowed.
Wheelbase must remain stock and unaltered for make and model year.
Maximum allowable wheelbase is 102". Dodge neon ok at 104” any
others see tech. Maximum wheel tilt right front 2”, left front
1". Independent rears 1”. 1” rubber coil spring
spacers allowed. All chassis and bodies must be level within 2" side
to side, front to rear. Shocks must be stock replacement over the
counter shocks and struts. NO high performance, QA-1, Pro
Shocks or adjustable shocks allowed. One shock per wheel.
Racing Springs Allowed.
Strut-type suspensions can use threaded adjuster cup on stock strut.
WINDSHIELD: Windshield may be
replaced with plastic or Lexan™. Complete windshield opening must be
covered. No other glass allowed. Rear and side rear Lexan windows
allowed.
BRAKES: Four wheel
brakes in proper working order are mandatory. Brake system must
remain stock for make and model.
RADIATOR: Any radiator may be used as
long as no cutting of the hood or grill is needed for installation.
All cars must have a one (1) qt. overflow catch can connected to the
radiator that can be easily emptied.
